- Email address (optional) — used only to notify you when your score is ready; never sold or shared
- Social media handles (optional) — used to gather additional public data for scoring accuracy
- Disambiguation context (optional) — a description of the person to help identify the correct individual when multiple people share a name
Scores are calculated using publicly available information gathered from web sources and third-party data services. We do not collect or store private or non-public personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to calculate and display a Dharma Score for the requested person. Specifically:
- Your name and optional details are used as search parameters to gather relevant public information
- Your email address (if provided) is used only to send a single notification when your score is complete
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes
- We do not use your data for advertising targeting
3. Third-Party Data Sources
To calculate scores, we retrieve publicly available information from the following third-party services:
- People Data Labs — professional profile and demographic data
- Tavily — web search and content retrieval
- Exa.ai — semantic web search and discovery
- GDELT — global news event database
- MusicBrainz — music catalog and artist data
- TMDb (The Movie Database) — film and television data
- TheSportsDB — sports and athlete data
Data retrieved from these services is used for scoring purposes and is not permanently stored in identifiable form beyond what appears in the displayed score.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Profiles and scores are stored indefinitely on our servers unless a deletion request is submitted. We retain this data to allow scores to be viewed and referenced over time.
